I first became aware of the S4G label when Absence Of Matter was released. I was so impressed by this excellent album that I have kept up with all the releases. When Oceans was released I thought, hey! there's plenty of material for a mix here, so I asked S4G if they were interested in a mix that spanned the releases to date, and submitted a draft a few days later. The mix comprises the tracks that really stand-out for me. Problem is, there are alot of tracks from this label that are worthy of inclusion so I had to be quite selective.

EugeneKha – Low Sky (Earth Mantra, 2011)
EugeneKha is Russian musician who has been quite prolific. Low Sky is an incredibly eclectic collection of pieces that literally touch upon almost every ambient subgenre you could think of, and every one is done well, from the dark ambient of “November Night” to the ethno-ambient of “Chinese Souvenir” to the almost Berlin-school stylings of “After the Storm.” EugeneKha is definitely a top-level talent and this is a good introduction to his work.

2 ФЕВРАЛЯ ( СУББОТА) на другую концертную площадку
в помещении клуба Восток по адресу пос Восточный ул Западная д 1
добраться до клуба очень просто:

от метро Сокольники, Преображенская площадь, Щелковская
на маршрутном такси 516, 716 или на автобусе 716 до остановки
ХРАМ
Время проведения фестиваля с 18 до 6 часов утра

Клуб Восток находится рядом с остановкой и искать ничего не надо
в 700 метрах от МКАД

Для гостей фестиваля на своих авто бесплатная парковка около клуба

Для Проекта Восток стало добрй традицией проводить фестивали на своей домашней площадке и в 2013 году это не станет исключением из правил
Мы ждем всех ценителей современной этнической и электронной музыки

Label Review:

Two alter egos of Russian musician, poet, netlabel administrator, and artist Evgenij V. Kharitonov join forces on Light Hour Of Darkness. Material recorded between 2006 and 2009 is blended into a single hour-long drone piece. Starting with catchy, vaguely tribal rhythms, backed by slowly-building wet static and percussive vocal samples, the track gets noisier along the way. The mix is very eclectic: at times taking the shape of straight harsh noise, nuoh-esque quiet mechanical groaning and hissing, or dark atmospherics, and that is just in the first half hour! Light Hour Of Darkness is a hefty testament to where Mr. Kharitonov has been and a good indication of where he will go in the future.

Electro-Music.com, it is a multi-use website that combines a forum and a radio station, creating a unique social community for musicians, technicians, and educators. The site was founded by Howard Moscovitz, the owner and originator and has funded the site for the last 10 years. Howard is a reluctant genius and incredibly talented, a former Bell Labs researcher, and a soulful musician that has been doing experimental and electronic music since the 1960's.
